Qi Gong and Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine works by addressing the energetic
system of the body. The body's energy system carries "qi" or
vital energy, from the outside world to our organs and vital
structures of the body. When qi is abundant and flowing, there is
harmony and health and the body's healing system is able to function
as nature intended. Qigong, acupuncture, herbal medicine and movement
arts are all different ways of moving qi in the body.
Qigong Therapy restores balance in the energy system
through the application of qi healing by a therapist and also instruction
provided to the patient for self practice. Qi healing is a gentle and
honoring art and involves no needles, no herbs. The patient remains
fully clothed. Most patients experience deep relaxation, pain and stress
relief and a sense of increased wellness during their session. "Homework"
can be given to allow for continued self healing and practice.
Acupuncture is a powerful method for treating pain and other inflammatory
conditions,by increasing the flow of chi (energy) and blood.
Acupuncture restores balance in the energy system through the insertion needles
to acupuncture "points" in the body. Acupuncture needles are sterile, single use
and disposable, and very fine like a hair. Most patients find acupuncture to be
relaxing and comforting. Physical illness is treated through healing the energy
system in the body first, and allowing the body's natural healing mechanisms to
become more active.
